    Sol-Gel Methods for the Assembly of Metal and Semiconductor Nanoparticles

    Abstract: The ability to assemble nanoparticles into functional structures is an important challenge that needs to be addressed for the generation of nanoparticle-based devices. Sol-gel method represents a facile yet powerful strategy for the self-assembly of metal oxides, chalcogenides, and metal-semiconductor hybrid nanoparticle systems into three-dimensionally connected porous nanostructures.
    Boron Nitride Nanotube/Polystyrene Composites

    Abstract: We report mechanical reinforcement and thermal conductivity improvement of polystyrene by boron nitride nanotubes. The boron nitride nanotubes were synthesized by a chemical vapor deposition method at high temperature. It was demonstrated clearly that the boron nitride nanotubes synthesized can effectively improve both mechanical properties and thermal conductivity of polystyrene.
    Dielectrophoresis of Biomolecules

    Abstract: Principles and applications of dielectrophoresis (DEP) of biomolecules, suspended in aqueous medium, are reviewed. Biomolecules include nucleic acids (DNA and RNA), proteins, carbohydrates and lipids, and vary significantly in their composition and their behavior in aqueous medium.
