Publication Ethics

Publication ethics are central to winning the confidence and credibility of the scientific community. It is the responsibility and self-restraint role envisioned for the authors and the publishing community to encourage the scholarly world toward original scientific research.

JsciMed Central would like to follow the bandwagon of its predecessors who remained exemplary in the field of scientific research publishing by strictly adhering to the norms and standards of the international ethics committees like COPE, DOAJ, OASPA, and WAME have prescribed as standard publication procedures.

Originality

JsciMed Central encourages the publication of original and unpublished research in all forms through its journals and expects authors to submit a declaration along with the manuscript submission to the effect that it is their original work and it is neither published before nor under the consideration for publishing elsewhere.

Plagiarism

JSciMed Central encourages authors to evaluate their manuscripts prior to their submission for plagiarism. It is our policy not to encourage plagiarism in any form, except to the extent of accepted level, which is unavoidable. Our quality team would revert such manuscripts with plagiarism for resubmission.

Acknowledgment

The pains of producing an outstanding research outcome are immense and the researcher would expect the minimum attributions when their research is cited in the document. It is legible to acknowledge the copyright holder to boost the morale of the scientists and the scientific research.

Copyrights

It is essential for the author to obtain prior permission to reproduce any image, picture, diagram, part of the text, or formula if it is reproduced as it is, by duly acknowledging the source to protect the copyrights of the original source of production/publication. Author(s) must obtain a license or written permission for partial or complete reproduction of such aspects mentioned above from the original copyright holder.

Duplicate/redundant data or manuscript submission

Any publication with repetition of the data, content, or information that is already published either by the same authors or by others with a different title to the same publisher or to other publishers is considered redundancy. According to the APA code of ethics (APA Publication Manual, 2010), the duplicate publication is a violation of publication ethics and will be rejected. Authors are advised to contact the editorial team to seek clarifications to rule out the duplications if any. If it is proved as duplicate, authors must seek the prior permission of the copyright holder.

Citation Manipulation

Academic and scholarly citations enhance the author's visibility in the research fraternity. However, no manipulations with a view to deliberately increase citations will be discouraged.

Data fabrication/falsification

Any data produced for analysis that is false and fabricated to write the manuscript, without conducting such experiments would be summarily rejected.

Author Contribution (s)

Representation of the author’s information would be generally in the order of priority, based on their original contribution to the research. Any false representation would be against research ethics. All contributions, including the students and the lab technicians, must be acknowledged to promote the morale and the spirit of scientific research. All the authors listed in the manuscript must abide by the values, information, views, and opinions expressed in the manuscript.

Conflict of Interest

JSciMed Central encourages transparency in every aspect and expects the author (s) to acknowledge the funding agency or any other source of financial support that sponsored the study clearly to prove its authenticity. The such declaration allows the readers to form independent opinions of their own and judge the study accordingly. Conflict of interest must not refrain the researcher from disclosing the facts. Affiliations and collaborations with agencies in producing the research work must also be cited clearly to avoid bias in research findings.

Reprinting the published articles

Prior written permission from the copyright holder must be obtained to reprint all the published material.

Norms for Clinical Research

The privacy and human rights of all individuals or patients that are part of any biomedical research must be honored with due respect. Prior permission and consent of such individuals must be taken in consent forms. The researcher must take enough care to protect the identity of the volunteers that formed part of such research. Patients and individuals must be clearly explained the side effects if any and measures must be taken not to threaten the life of such individuals during the post-research period. The author must clearly state in the methods and materials about such permissions and the editor may also demand the author (s) to produce such documents prior to approving the manuscript for publication.

Honoring Animal and environmental laws

Author (s) or researcher that is deploying animals for a clinical trial or any part of the environment for that purpose must take enough measures not to produce agony or trauma to such living organisms. Ethics committee approval is essential in all such cases. Violation of human, animal and environmental laws is liable for punishment.

Ethics committee approval

In all cases, where animals or humans are involved in the research to obtain data for the study, prior permission from the ethics committee must be obtained. Author (s) must mention the details of the ethics committee approval, including the names and contact details of the ethics committee members, protocol numbers along with the date of granting such approval at the commencement of the methods and material section clearly.
