A detailed study on the structure of appendages of two species Panulirus ornatus (rock lobster) belonging to the family Palinuridae and Thenus orientalis (sand lobster) of the family
Scyllaridae has been carried out. Pigment variation in the appendages and the variation in the specific appendages have been noted and these changes were interpreted. Structural variation with respect to their mode of life has been discussed.
