JSciMed Central is gathering important contributions of the highest quality on constantly advancing science through basic, translational and clinical investigations. Many of JSciMed Central journals publish Special Issues which are the highest searched emerging collections of articles that highlight promising areas of research within a field, or present a platform for a deeper investigation into an existing research topic. JSciMed Central's aim is to cover Global, country, institutional, curriculum/program, and micro-level factors that impact the quantity and quality of online education. We create this venue to present several unanswered questions or new promising treatment options that improve the quality of life and survival rates. Physicians are also educated simultaneously as they improve their knowledge over the most recent advancements.

Special Issue deals with focused research topics of high interest, falling under the scope of the Journal. Special Issues are the pool of articles on a current topic selected from the Ongoing Research under a specific discipline. The aim of the Special Issue is to provide a platform for the researchers to understand the recent advancements and challenges in particular areas of research. You can opt to be a Special Issue Guest Editor and be the lead in encouraging continued research in important areas while gaining editorial experience and communicating in improving the author's input by making revisions, assigning reviewers, and final decisions. This doesn’t just give you a rich experience in the Topic but also helps improve your academic profile.

Benefits of Being Guest Editor

  • Guest Editor Team may contribute two out of 8-10 Articles to the Special Issue. These articles must be only Research Reviews or Case Reports. Such Articles are exempted from the Article Processing Charges.
  • For unbiased review, we would get the peer review processing completed by our former Editorial Board experts. Thus these Manuscripts will undergo revisions as per Editorial Comments.
  • However, the Guest Editor Team would be asked to write an Introductory Editorial where briefing on the importance and the scope of the published article under the Special issue once all the Manuscripts are received and processed. This Editorial will be published without any Article Processing Charges.
  • Get to know like-minded colleagues worldwide and thus build your network globally.

This section will take you through necessitates required for being a Special Issue and writing a neat Special Issue Proposal from the beginning. Proposing a Special Issue Step-wise: 
1.    Choosing a Special Issue Topic – This aspect is very important as this decides the scope of the Special Issue. Please ensure to choose a topic within your research strengths. The Topic you selected must have enough scope. Else, the Editorial Board or the Journal Content Development Team holds all the rights to reject the proposal or revise the Special Issue.
 
2.    Please ensure that the topic you selected must be within the scope of the Journal. If you think that the topic is not suitable for the Journal, JSciMed Central has many sister Journals where you may select the most relevant Journal. Please find the Journal’s list here

3.    Selecting a Title – Make sure that Title doesn’t contain more than 10 words. Title must not be of too broad a scope. For example -

4.    Selecting a Title- Before you chose to select a title, we recommend you find the Open Special Issues in the Journal to avoid redundancy. Editorial Board rejects the Special Issue with redundant titles. If In case you have enough Contributors ready to submit to the title, please mention them in the Proposal. Such Proposals would have high scope to be accepted.

5.    Title Scope Coverage - Please make sure to write a proposal introducing your topic and subtopics covered in not more than 300-400 words. You may mention areas covered. Kindly find the right format for areas covered for the topic Endometriosis - Symptoms and Causes

6.    Recruiting Special Issue Editors – One topic may have a maximum of 2-4 Special Issue Guest editors. Complete Affiliation with the contact numbers of the Editors and their expected contribution must be stated in the proposal. And also make sure of listing the sequence of the Editors in the Special Issue. Please address who does the Journal Content Team Coordinate or Point of Coordinate. 

7.    Diversity of Special Issue Articles – Always ensure to seek Authors/Contributions from/across the globe. This brings diversity of wide range of research in different countries.

8.    Process – All the submitted manuscripts undergo peer review processing. For the Guest Editor authors Manuscripts, the peer review process is carried out by the Journal Editorial Board to avoid any bias.
 

Assisting a Special Issue

The Accepted Approvals shall be now displayed in the Journal and the Call for Papers is initiated. If you are unaware of the roles and responsibilities of being a Guest Editor, this information would help you assist.

  1. Call for Papers
  • JSciMed Central Journal Content Development Team now prepares an advertisement PDF and would present your proposal on the website and various social media sites. This opens the call for papers from various platforms. Simultaneously, the team also starts initiating to send invitations to the subscribers of the Journal. If you have any contributors list you may send the list to the journal Content Team which would share the invitations on your behalf.
  • If you are attending any conferences or would like to display a copy in your department, you may request the advertising PDF from the Journal Team.
  1. Promote your Special Issue – We encourage you to share the advertising PDF of your Special Issue on your Social Media sites or present it in your Oral Presentations if any. Share among your network or colleagues in your department. This augments the scope of receiving Manuscripts.
  2. You may send your electronic signature which we would include in the team sending invites to the subscribers.
  3. Handling Peer-review Process

•             Received Manuscripts under the SI Title would be first intimated to the point of contact SI Editor.

•             Later SI editor must write to the group about the MS and assign at at-least 2 Independent Reviews.

•             SI editor may even choose to ask Journal Content Team to find suitable reviewers and gather reviews.

•             The revised article will be published after SI Guest Editor Team decides to accept revisions and publish.

  1. Policy Terms
  • The limit of Self Articles to the Special Issue is 2-3. Please ensure no more than self-articles are considered under Special Issue. They would be automatically directed to the regular issue.
  • Please ensure the Case Reports with revealing images/information need to be signed Consent forms.
  • If the Manuscript includes animal models, make sure of the rights and ethical committee clearance from the Author.
  • Ensure there is no Competing interest/Conflict of interests. Make sure each Manuscript has these terms mentioned. Similar caution must be kept in mind before you assign the reviewers. Please do not assign to the same department and University reviewers who share the same affiliation/department as Author.
  • Kindly crosscheck if the incoming Manuscripts don’t have Plagiarism. However the Journal Content Development Team does check, it is always advisable to have a look at this aspect.
  • As you know most of the authors try to add self-work citations to increase their citations. Unless it’s necessary please ensure self-citations are avoided.

You may select the topic of your choice.

Deadlines – The Special Issues will be having Closing Deadlines, however even after the deadline if the Author is willing to submit, they may appear after the peer review processing, however, the journal may not ensure that it is reviewed by the Special Issue Guest Editor as per their availability. In such cases, Peer review processing is carried out by Editorial Board.

Manuscript Formatting – Formatting guidelines remain the same for the Special Issue. However, Special Issue Title and the Article type are mentioned. Please find the Manuscript Formatting Guidelines here

Submission: All the Special Issue Manuscripts are submitted to specialissue@jscimedcentral.com or submissions@jscimedcentral.com

Peer Review of Special Issue

  1. The submitted Manuscript to the Special Issue is first scrutinized for Plagiarism Check and the scope of the Manuscript to fit into the Special Issue. Once it is good enough to proceed, then it is shared with the Special Issue Editor for a further check on Scope, Competing Interests, Consents, etc.
  2. The SI Editor now assigns reviewers and gathers the review comments and gives revisions to develop the Manuscript quality according to the standards.
  3. The author makes revisions and submits which gets published if Special Issue Editor decides to accept the revisions.

Finally, after hearing the acceptance from the Editor the Manuscript is then published within a week.
