Metastatic Neuroendocrine Lung Cancer Mimicking Medullary Thyroid Cancer: Case Report of a Rare Presentation - Abstract
Metastatic cancer to the thyroid gland occurs rarely, and needs to be differentiated from primary thyroid cancer for proper medical and surgical planning. Neuroendocrine neoplasms can present with metastatic disease before the primary tumor is discovered. We present a rare case of metastatic neuroendocrine
lung cancer to the thyroid gland and lateral neck lymph nodes, where accurate recognition of this entity on pathology significantly altered the clinical care of the patient.
