Mariana Gomes Lima - Abstract
Mariana obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences
at Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro-UFRRJ (2003-2007).
A Master’s Degree in Veterinary Science at UFRRJ with the study
of biochemical effects of Euphorbia splendes var. hisloppi on the
metabolism and physiology of Biomphalaria glabrata infected
and not infected by Schistosoma mansoni (2008 - 2010). A PhD
in Veterinary Science, UFRRJ, in the field of Parasitology, Thesis’s
topic: Angiostrongylus cantonensis (Nematoda): comparative
study of the effects of infection on the metabolism of Biomphalaria
straminea and Biomphalaria tenagophila (Mollusca) (2012 -
2016). Mariana’s expertise relies on physiology and biochemistry
of the host-parasite relationship in the models of molluscstrematodes / nematodes of importance in public and veterinary
health.Additionally, Mariana receivedtraining and improvement
in molecular biology .
