JSM Burns and Trauma Journal provide updated and comprehensive insights on understanding the causes, diagnosis, pathophysiology, prognosis, epidemiology and management of Trauma as research articles, Reviews, Mini Reviews, Short Communications, Perspectives and Editorials. The peer reviewed journal encourages contributions relevant to biomaterials, tissue engineering and stem cells, critical care, immunobiology and skin transplantation, prevention and regeneration of burns and trauma injury, as well as epidemiological studies and clinical trials in burns and trauma.
Burning is a state of body condition that leads to tissue damage due to exposure to chemicals, weapons, electricity short circuits, the Sun Light and nuclear radiation. The most common forms of burning however result in due to scalds, building fires, and flammable liquids and gases. Skin, the largest among all organs and one of the most crucial sense organs of the living organism that covers and protects the entire body from dust, heat, and infections would be worst affected. Shock, trauma and tissue damage would be the immediate consequences of burns. The greater the intensity of the burns, the higher would be the level of damage to the tissue that may demand emergency and critical care to the patient with immediate effect, who may have to be hospitalized for a prolonged period.
Although the mortality rate is high among the burnt cases due to multiple organ dysfunction, advancements in therapeutic care, treatment and post-surgery care and rehabilitation in recent years could reduce the death rate considerably.
The journal is peer reviewed and all manuscripts undergo five level thorough reviews processing of content such as plagiarism, copyediting, in-house review, independent review assignments, proofreading and typesetting to ensure scientific content quality meets the international standards.
