Animal Visits and Test Performance in Clinical Nurses: A Randomized Research Study - Abstract
As healthcare facilities across the country transition to electronic documentation, nurses from diverse backgrounds and in all settings are responsible for
learning new documentation systems. Learning new systems and ways of documenting and providing care can be a stressful experience for clinical nurses.
Transitions to a new healthcare documentation system provides an opportunity to study ways to the test-taking environment and ways to reduce anxiety in such
situations. The use of animals to calm test-takers is one way to support test performance.
