Although basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and actinic keratosis are both sun-induced lesions, their coexistence at the same anatomical site is rare. We report a case of simultaneous occurrence of BCC and actinic keratosis in an year-old woman.

We report the case of an 86 year-old woman who presented with two lesions of the forehead. The first lesion was ulcerated with beaded edges and measured 1cm of diameter. The second lesion was an erythematous plaque with an ulcerated an scabby center. At histological examination, the first lesion corresponded to a basal cell carcinoma and the other lesion was an actinic keratosis. The patient had an excision of the basal cell carcinoma.

Basal cell carcinomas and actinic keratoses have common risk factors, in particular sun exposure and advanced age. The simultaneous occurrence of these lesions is explainable.figure 1.
