JSciMedCentral is an open-access publisher that operates entirely on its own resources, without receiving any external grants or funding from agencies. To sustain its publishing activities, the organization relies primarily on Article Processing Charges (APCs).
Open Access provides free and unrestricted access to published content. Readers and users may download, share, circulate, print, and distribute the text, images, and information for fair academic use without seeking permission from the author, provided appropriate credit is given.
To maintain this model, the publisher incurs significant costs, including infrastructure, editing, formatting, illustration, software licenses, and third-party services. It also covers server hosting, digital preservation, indexing, DOI assignment, and other essential services. APCs collected from authors, institutions, or funders cover these expenses.
The APCs vary depending on article type, size, complexity, and processing duration. Waivers are available for authors from low-income economies and those without institutional support. Special waivers may also be provided during Open Access Week or other important scientific events.
